Westview Children's Ministries
Psalm 127:3 tells us that
children are a gift from God and we believe that with all our
hearts.
Our
Children’s Ministry is a planned program featuring worship,
crafts, stories, special trip and events, and learning
activities that teach and reinforce Bible stories and values.
You will find that our Children’s Ministry staff values the
lives of children and desires to help develop their personal
walk with Jesus Christ. We want to make disciples by helping
children know, love, and follow Christ. We accomplish this as
a team of teachers, coordinators, song leaders, and helpers
connecting children to a relationship with their Lord. All
children are welcomed with open arms and we strive to build in
each one a strong foundation of faith and love that will last
a lifetime. We believe that our approach to programming will
offer your children an opportunity to experience the love of
Christ in an exciting way.
Nursery
What a joy it is to have your child in our Nursery! Our
ministry is filled with loving volunteers who serve faithfully
whenever nursery care is provided. We do our best to provide
the loving care your child deserves. Our nursery is available
each Sunday for Sunday school and our Morning Worship service.
Please make sure that everything your child needs (bottle,
diapers, etc.) are given to the nursery worker and you will
need to pick up your child as soon as possible after the
service has ended.
Sunday School
Our
Sunday School classes offer children the opportunity to learn
the great stories from the Bible. Sunday School starts at 9:30
a.m. every Sunday morning.
10:40 a.m. Services
During the 10:40 Worship Service on Sundays we offer two
children’s classes:
Children’s Church
Our
Preschool - Kindergarten class meets in the main building in
the preschool classroom. They will learn Bible stories and
have lots of fun activities to go along with the lesson.
Junior Worship
Our
1st through the 6th grade meet for Junior Worship for the full
hour during the 10:40 morning worship service.
The
kids gather upstairs for worship, Bible lessons, communion and
offering, activities, and small groups. We are using a
program called "252BASICS". We want every child who
participates in "252BASICS" to grow up and say:
1. I need to make the WISE CHOICE.
2. I can TRUST GOD no matter what, and
3. I should TREAT OTHERS the way that I want to be treated.
The theme for this
is wisdom, faith and friendship based upon the following
outline:

Odyssey on Wednesday Nights
We are
excited about another great year of Odyssey. We hope that
through this program your child will continue to learn about
God in a fun environment. We meet each Wednesday from 6:15 to
7:15 p.m. Each month the children will be learning a new
character trait that God wants them to have in their’ life.
Also,
each week, the children will have an opportunity to earn
Adventure Bucks that can be used to buy cool prizes on Odyssey
Box night. Children can earn Adventure Bucks by bringing
their Bibles, memorizing Bible verses, bringing new visitors,
reciting memory work, and wearing their Odyssey T-shirt.
Odyssey T-shirts are available for the kids to buy.
The
rewards of you children attending Odyssey Adventure club will
be enormous. You will discover a new joy as your children’s
faces glow as the truth of God’s love, forgiveness, and truth
penetrates their hearts.
Parents
Our
Children’s ministry at Westview in not merely an appendage
that is tacked on to the body of the church. Rather, it is a
dynamic integral part of the total church program. It is a
cooperative effort between the church and home, utilizing the
efforts of both parents and the church body to effectively
reach the children of our community with the message of the
love of Jesus Christ. We are excited to share the burdens,
joys, and challenges of teaching children about God and his
wonderful Son, Jesus Christ with you. Because of this, you as
a parent are invited to be a part of our Children’s Ministry.

Provide a safe, secure, and loving
environment for children to participate in,
where parents feel comfortable leaving their child.
