A TYPICAL SERMON

A LOOK AT OUR CHRISTIAN HERITAGE-Psalm 33:12
Is America a Christian Nation?

While several churches have implemented programs where they are placing their sermons on the internet, we believe that worship is a collective experience that requires you to be with the church body, hear the music and experience the fellowship of one another.  With that in mind, we're resisting the concept of using the internet as a replacement to church attendance.

However, we understand that if you are searching for a church home, you may want to hear a typical sermon as part of your evaluation.  The sermon provided above was preached on our July 4th weekend 2008 and is indicative of our passion to return Christian values to our country and its people.

If you are shut in and unable to attend our services, you can request a recording of any service and we'll be happy to discuss how this can be provided to  you.  Please just call our church office.

Come to church and experience what WESTVIEW is all about.  We think you'll like it.

Bulletin Outline
Typically we provide an outline in our church bulletin with "fill-in-the-blanks" with the answers being provided on our media screen during the service at appropriate times during the sermon.  Any time a reference is made to a bible verse, we show that bible verse on the multi-media screen as well.  If you complete the outline during our services, you will leave with a tangible reference to the sermon that you have just heard.

TYPICAL MUSIC IN OUR SERVICES
We're not presently set up to professionally record our music, but the music below provides an glimpse into our services.  Worship is lead on a rotating basic and covers a lot of different styles.  Steve, Christy and Alicia lead the music in this service below:

POWERPOINT & MULTI-MEDIA
We believe that technology can be used for the enhancement of the worship experience and the goal of our media team is to visually assist in the message.  We're doing that by putting the Bible verses on our screen as our preaching Minister references them....you can see the verse right there on the screen.

When available, we also enhance our worship experience with a short video that adds to the sermon topic and the overall experience.

We would like to enhance this part of our Gatherings and are seeking someone who is experienced and interested in video opportunities so that we might develop some ideas in-house.

If you are looking for a place to serve, and you have graphic artist or multi-media talents, we can use you to further the Kingdom of God.

COMING SOON....
As we grow in our media department, we hope to include a great deal of information on this site that will allow you to download information that will assist you.  Please be patient with us.

WISH LIST:
As with any ministry, we must make decisions about spending money to the glory of God relative to how will this expenditure impact and improve our ability to meet the great commission.  With that in mind, NEEDS are more important than WANTS although those of us that work in the media ministry believe that we can impact and create a more meaningful experience through the use of media.  Our wish list is listed below:

LIGHTING CONTROL BOARD
This equipment would allow the ambient lighting to be controlled during the services, diming the sanctuary lights and spotlighting the events on the platform to create a memorable visual experience.  Components include the Control Board, Dimmers and Relay controllers and a group of lights suited for this purpose.  It would be permanently installed and controlled in the Sound Booth upstairs.

RECORDING SYSTEM
Currently, we record our Sermon Message only for Library and Historical purposes on a cassette system.  We do not have the ability to digitally record, nor do we have the ability to record the entire services.  We would love to have a Computer based recording system and achieve every service to Compact Disc.

IMPROVED REAR WALL PROJECTION
We currently have a projector installed on our rear wall for our praise team to see the song lyrics and messages.  It is an older model and we would like to improve the resolution.  Replacing this projector would enable our church to have a spare projector for use in Vacation Bible School and other random programs where we currently are having to borrow a projector or take the installed unit down.

VIDEO SYSTEM
Currently, we have a fixed base CCTV camera on our worship services that we modulate over a Church Cable system to our children's area so that the workers can see what is happening in the main church.  We do not have the ability to zoom this camera, nor do we have the ability to record or control the image.  At some point in time, we would love to expand our media to a point where we can have a video recording of the services for our shut ins.  This would require the following equipment:

Professional Grade Video Camera
Video Multimedia Switcher and Mixer
Digital Video Recorder
DVD Duplicator System

MICROPHONE IN THE BAPTISM AREA
We would love to install a sound connection to the Baptismal area so that we can include the sounds of a person being baptized on our sound recordings.

WELCOME CENTER TELEVISION
Through the use of an in-house cable system, we modulate our Announcements and a fixed camera to a television system located in the church.  We would like to install a wide/big screen monitor in the Welcome center to make it easier to see.  Currently, we have a small television.

ANNOUNCEMENTS IN THE ACTIVITY CENTER
Our Cable television system currently does not cross the parking lot and therefore we do not have the announcements on screen in the activity center.  At some point in the future, we would love to pull cable to the activity center and install a television network in the activity classrooms and hallway.

If you would like to donate to a specific portion of our media ministry, please give us a telephone call at the church office.   318-635-0356
