order to highlight special events. We have services

In a recent cartoon in the paper, a small child asks his
Mom if church is "open" every Sunday. When she responds
"yes", then he asks, "Why do we only come two times a year?"
Good question. YES, WESTVIEW IS OPEN
EVERY SUNDAY! And it's Free too!

PROSPECTIVE MUSIC MINISTER
The leadership has invited a young man to come and lead
music today that will be included on the Congregational Ballot
as a prospective music minister. This is your
opportunity to hear him.

HOME GROUPS RETURN
College Age and the 40' & -50's Groups will be
meeting in homes Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm.
Michael and Michelle Lee will be hosting the College Age.
Gary and Patty Boswell will host the 40-50 Group.

and a snack to share and plan to fellowship.

Women's Ministry
Fall Bible Study:
Beginning at 6:30, in the auditorium, our ladies will begin a
final study of the "__in love with Jesus" trilogy by Dee
Brestin and Kathy Trocolli. This Bible study is
entitled, "Forever in Love with Jesus" It is a
video/discussion series that will encourage us that we as
Christians can have a joyful enduring, personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. If you want to purchase a
workbook for the study, it is $12.00 and can be purchased at
the Welcome Center. See Leta, Jo Marie or Debbie
Burgess.

ANNUAL GOLF-A-THON
The annual Golf-A-Thon is planned and details are
available at the Welcome Center for those that are interested.
Even if you are not able to play, we could use your
sponsorship to help raise funds. The 2007-2008
funds were dedicated toward our entrance renovation that has
just been completed.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
If you are a member of Westview Christian Church,
please stay after the morning worship on September 27 and cast
your vote on several church business issues. The
Confirmation of Elders and Deacons, approval of the Budget and
a vote on a revision of the Church Constitution will be on the
agenda. This is a MAJOR decision for the future of our
church and we need you to voice your opinion. Details of
the changes in the proposed constitution are available at the
Welcome Center.

Duncan and Serena Sheriff this Sunday

Typically in October or Early November, the date hasn't
been set just yet, but we're already thinking about the annual
"Westview Goes Country", where services are held in Blue
Jeans, in our Activities center with a look back toward
simpler times.

A gathering of the congregations of Westview,
Christview, Oakcrest and Countryside Christian Churches for an
evening of Christian music as we lift our voices to the Lord.
Plan on both old time songs as well as Specials. Time
is 6:00 followed by Fellowship.

MID WINTER YOUTH RETREAT
A Weekend get away for our youth at Camp Clearwater to
reconnect with their faith. Details coming in early
December 2009. This is a tentative date posted now.

SUPER SUNDAY IS COMING
<-------------------------------SAVE THE DATE!
On the scheduled date of Super Bowl, Westview holds an
annual SUPER SUNDAY celebration where members divide into
teams to see who can "score the most touchdowns", defined as
which team can bring the most guests in a special service.
The day will include a Fellowship Dinner, Touch Football and
more, but don't worry, you'll be home in time for the big
game. Make your plans today.

however we don't have the details as of yet. Louisiana
Christian Convention is a gathering of Christians from all
over Louisiana for a special weekend.
