SOMETHING BIG IS
HAPPENING

209 DAYS
There are several monumental thresholds that
growing churches must cross as they mature in their ministry.
One of those is crossing that 200 in attendance barrier.
Westview has come close; we've even done it a few times, but
not on a regular basis. We believe that if our church
can regularly have 209 + in attendance, we will see more
things accomplished. And so this is a goal for our
Commitment Sunday.
THE GOAL
TO REGULARLY HAVE 209 IN ATTENDANCE BY MAY 31, 2009
HOW WILL WE ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL?
THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!

PRAYER TEAM
29 people who will commit to praying daily for 209 days
for a harvest of souls...that people who have drifted
will be reclaimed and people will come to know the Lord.
EVANGELISM TEAM
29 people who will commit to getting one person at
Westview in 209 days...not just getting someone to visit
but actually attending.
ENCOURAGEMENT TEAM
29 people who will commit to reaching out to members who
have drifted from the church. This group will make
phone calls- send out encouragement cards - make visits
on people who are members but need encouragement.
PUBLICITY TEAM
29 people who will commit to preparing 3 or 4 bulk
mailings to our neighbors in Deer Creek, Timberline, and
Greenwood. These mail outs will be informative
about Westview and will challenge people to pay us a
visit.
OUTREACH EVENT TEAM
29 people who will commit to developing two outreach
events during this 209 day campaign.

LOUISIANA EVANGELIZING ASSOCIATION RETREAT
ADVANCE-CHURCH GROWTH
The LEA is an association of individuals
and Christian churches committed to planting new churches and
strengthening existing churches through other ministries.
As a group, the LEA is sponsoring a
"RETREAT" with a theme of "ADVANCE" Church Growth and
inviting Christians from all over the state and beyond to come
and be a part of this event. Learn how we can advance
our message and take part in fellowship at the same time.
GUEST SPEAKER: Jeff
Walling
Jeff is the senior minister of Providence Road Church of
Christ in Charlotte, NC. Jeff has spent the last twenty
years preaching and teaching about Jesus. His passionate
style and dramatic deliver have made him a sought after
speaker, lecturing to tens of thousands annually at Christian
universities, evangelism seminars, and conferences worldwide.

It is planned for Feb.13-14 at the Tall Timbers Retreat Center
in Forrest Hill, Louisiana.

From Shreveport..
I-49 South to Alexandria, Take Highway 165 South approximately
3 miles south of Woodworth, Tall Timers will be on your right.
Or, drive south on I-49 to the
Woodworth exit (73). Turn right at end of ramp. Travel west
on Robinson Bridge Rd. for approximately 2 miles. Turn left
(south) onto 165. Tall Timbers is 3 miles on the right.

COSTS
The Louisiana Evangelizing Association will be covering the
majority of the cost of the convention to make it as
affordable for you as possible. In fact, there is no
registration fee this year. The only cost you have is
the trip to the convention and your room fee which includes
all three meals. Here are the room fees at the
convention:

GENERAL INFORMATION & FAQS
What are the incentives for registering early if there is
no registration fee?
Everyone who sends in their registration postmarked by January
23rd or before will be placed in a drawing where three $50.00
gift cards will be given away.
Where do I get a registration form?

Will there be childcare?
YES! Childcare through 5th grade will be run by students
from Dallas Christian College during all main sessions and
workshops.
What is afterglow?
Aferglow will start at 10:00 on Saturday night. It is a
time of listening to people sing and play instruments using
the gifts that God has given them.
Who is leading the music this year?
Forrest Park Church of Christ in Crowley, Louisiana will be
leading worship
What is my charge if I don't stay overnight?
You will only be charged $5.00 per meal
What is the church planting portion about in the schedule?
Eric Fillinger from Hope Christian Church in New Orleans and
Lee Modlin from Pearlington Christian Church in Pearlington,
MS will be telling us about the exciting news about the new
churches being started.
Where is Woodworth, Louisiana?
Woodworth is approximately 15 miles SSW of Alexandria,
Louisiana
How many RV spots are there?
There are SEVEN RV spots and will be given out in order or
registrations received.

MARRIAGE RETREAT
The date has been set.
APRIL 3-4, 2008. We've booked
the place. Camp Bethany. It's close enough that
you can be involved, and secluded enough to meet the concept
of a Retreat. If you're a married couple, we want to
encourage you to plan to take part in this life changing
event. If you would like to work on the planning of this
special project, call us at the church office.
